Is it really free?
Yes. Free to download, free to use, free forever, for everyone. There are no editions, tiers, or trials to compare.
Do I need to know Linux?
No. There is no terminal in this story. If you can install an app and restart a computer, you can install Luma.
Will my files come across?
The installer offers to copy your documents, photos, and music from Windows or macOS. Nothing is deleted without asking twice.
Will my hardware work?
Wi-Fi, printers, screens, and game controllers work out of the box on most machines. The live stick is the honest test.
Can I go back?
Yes. Install alongside your old system and choose at startup, or try live and never install at all. Leaving is as easy as arriving.
What if I get stuck?
The assistant answers setup questions offline, and a large, patient community lives at the forum. Most installs need neither.
