Checklist complete, money paid outHow it works
Five steps, one fund, no surprisesPledge
Pick a bounty, or start one with a target and a checklist. Put $5 or more behind it. The card is charged now, into the project fund, earmarked for that bounty.
Pile on
Others add their own pledges. The total is public, so a device no distro would touch gets a port because 400 people wanted it.
Someone builds
A contributor says they are on it and posts progress against the checklist. More than one person can work the same bounty.
A maintainer verifies
When every box is ticked, a maintainer tests it. A short cooling-off period follows so anyone can raise a hand.
