Questions

Can I cancel any time?: Yes, from your account, in one click. The month you paid for runs out and nothing else is charged. The badge and the beta channel go with it; your name stays in the credits for the releases you funded.
Is anything in Luma locked behind Plus?: No. Not a feature, not a setting, not an app, not an update channel you would need for daily use. The beta channel is an early look, not a better system. If we ever put something behind Plus, that would be the day this page stopped being honest, and we would rather keep the page.
Does Plus buy influence?: A little, and only where it says so: roadmap votes count double. Plus does not skip the queue on bugs, does not get a maintainer’s ear, and does not decide what gets built. Bounties are the way to put money behind a specific thing, and they are open to everyone.
What about taxes?: Plus is a contribution, not a purchase, and it is not tax deductible in most places. Luma is not a registered charity. You get a receipt every month, and a yearly summary in January, for your own records.
Can I give once instead of monthly?: Yes. The join form takes a one-time amount too, and a one-time gift of $48 or more gets the same year of Plus. If you would rather your money went somewhere specific, back a bounty; that is what they are for.
What if I already pledge to bounties?: Thank you, and keep doing that. Bounties pay for one thing; Plus pays for the people and the servers that make any of it possible. Plus also covers the card fees on your pledges, so your bounty money goes further.
