I feel like there could be two versions, one with the suite and one without any extra bloat in the downloads, like a specific ISO with the two versions, with still possibility to install the suite when needed
@jonas-bonas Currently the OS installer asks if people want the office collection or creative collection - but given that Luma is trying to target "everyone" I wonder if people will skip it and then be confused why they can't open their doc/xls/ppt
@Nick Then I mean, maybe having the office suite preinstalled as it is maybe indeed something more standard then the Creative collection, maybe ask only if to install that
@Nick Maybe you can have it pre-checked have (recommended) next to it. Then you can also give people the option to install OnlyOffice/LibreOffice if they need something a bit more robust and the ability to uncheck the Luma office suit.
How about my make it an option during the setup process? It can be like "what software groups collections would you like to install" and then you can select all the ones you want. Doesn't force the user into a path but that way you also don't have to maintain two images.
Garuda Linux does a great job of doing this. You can set up your entire PC during onboarding and never have to install anything after.

@myemy86 I agree, but if there's only one version, in my opinion it should be preinstalled

I usually uninstall it if it's preinstalled. I just don't use office suites.
